The Travis Manion Foundation:

Tom & Janet Manion are Union League members whose son, Travis Manion, was killed in action while serving in Iraq in 2007.  This is an opportunity to help support fellow League members and the valuable work of the foundation created in their son’s name. “The Foundation’s Mission is to assist wounded and disabled veterans and the families of Fallen Heroes. We will continue the service to community and country exemplified by these Fallen Heroes and veterans. In the spirit of the Fallen, we will foster strength of mind and body to create a generation of future leaders.” The Foundation operates three major programs that Honor the Fallen by Challenging the Living through Fellowships, a Character Does Matter Leadership program, and the 9/11 Heroes Run each September 11th – while still funding Good Grief seminars, scholarships, and community service projects that benefit wounded and disabled veterans and Families of the Fallen.

Camp Compass

http://www.campcompass.org/about-camp-compass/mission/
Camp Compass is a unified effort to introduce urban, middle & high school students to various outdoor activities.

During these sessions students will be introduced and networked to community businesses and working role models. The consequence will be an educated and influenced population understanding conservation, sportsmen’s philosophies and their activities.  Camp Compass is a nonprofit program developed for urban, disadvantaged youth by John Annoni. His staff of volunteer mentors are making a difference in the inner city by providing hunting, fishing, archery, tutoring, social guidance, and other outdoor youth activities.  The children involved are helped with life through a structured program fostering self esteem, providing role models and influencing positive choices.

The NRA Foundation

http://www.nrafoundation.org/about/
The NRA Foundation is the country’s leading charitable organization in support of the shooting sports, awarding more than $140 million since its inception in 1990. The NRA Foundation supports those organizations and programs that ensure the continuation of our proud shooting and hunting heritage. Grants benefit programs such as youth education, law enforcement training, hunter education, conservation, firearms and marksmanship training and safety, and much more.  (If it were not for the NRA we may not even be permitted to hold to hold such an event!)

We are fortunate to be able to spend a day together like this together and we can also feel good about being in a position to help such worthwhile causes in the process!  Thank you again to all who have registered thus far and if you are in the position to become an event sponsor, please let me know.  You will be supporting some excellent causes.
